Meet the team
One of the things you will probably notice in reading these brief profiles is that the great majority of our team have been with us since IBP Strategy and Research started in 2002 (and many of us worked together for a good while before that). This stability in our team gives our clients the reassurance that they will be serviced by a highly professional and experienced team that knows how to work together to provide the best value to our clients.
Eddy is an experienced and well respected consultant whose interests extend across a wide range of economic, social and business spheres. Eddy has expertise across the full range of quantitative and qualitative research disciplines but marries this with a highly insightful and strategic approach. He is an accomplished group facilitator and, in addition to his consultancy and research work, delivers training across the UK on issues such as community engagement, sustainable communities and economic development.
He has a first degree in Politics from Stirling University and holds the Diploma of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Certificate of the Market Research Society as well as an MBA from Glasgow Caledonian University. Eddy is also a Member of the Market Research Society and of the Institute of Leadership and Management.
In his spare time, Eddy is a keen tennis player at Rutherglen Lawn Tennis Club. He is currently writing the centenary history of the club – provisionally entitle “Quiet Please. Play” – for publication later in 2021.
Jacqui O’Dowd
Survey Supervisor
Jacqui came on board as IBP’s Research Supervisor early at the beginning of 2020. She has almost 25 years’ research experience, including periods as a recruiter / interviewer for Scott Porter, Scottish Area Supervisor for Field Connections, Scottish Area supervisor for ICM and Scottish Area Manager for ABA. A working research supervisor, Jacqui has excellent communication, organisation and IT skills and has particular expertise in the delivery of large-scale face-to-face survey projects and in recruitment of participants for qualitative research projects, having already delivered a number of such projects with IBP.
Fraser Gilfillan
Consultant
Fraser Gilfillan started his career in a marketing role in the construction industry before joining the research company T.L. Dempster as Data Analyst from where he joined IBP at its inception. Fraser’s role now includes a range of interviewing and focus group facilitation work as well as heading up IBP’s data processing and analysis function. Fraser holds a BA in Marketing from the University of Paisley and the MRS Advanced Certificate in Market and Social Research. In his spare time, Fraser is a keen (and relatively accomplished) ice hockey player.
Peter Meehan
Associate Consultant
Peter joined IBP since its inception, initially as a data analyst before moving into a consultancy role. Peter has been particularly active in our work with Local Authorities, managing a number of Citizens’ Panels and working on resident research projects. Peter’s first degree is in Chemical Engineering and he has a Masters in Operational Research from Strathclyde University. He is particularly skilled in the analysis aspects of our work with his Masters dissertation focusing on a quantitative analysis of the drivers of satisfaction within a Scottish Local Authority. Peter left our full-time employ in 2017 to pursue other interests but continues to contribute to projects on an associate basis. His interests out of work include current affairs, cooking and football.
Jason Brown
Administrator
Jason has been an integral part of IBP’s team for almost a decade. His role involves database management, quality assurance within the data processing function and, in particular, coding and checking of open-ended responses to the various surveys we do and management of the postal survey process. In addition, he provides wider administrative support to the other members of the team.
Lynsey Fisher
Administrator
Lynsey too has been with IBP at the outset and provides high quality administrative support to the Director and consultancy team as well as supporting the delivery of a range of research projects. She is also the voice that people are most likely to hear when they first call IBP.
Interviewing Team
Our interviewing team, many of whom have been with us from the start, are highly experienced and professional at what they do, being trained to all the appropriate industry standards. However, we also encourage them to bring a human touch to the interviewing process, treating interviewees as individuals and building a rapport with them rather than mindlessly reading from the script. We deliver telephone interviews from our offices in Lanarkshire and have a team of researchers that allows us to deliver field research projects across the UK.
Data Processing Team
We provide a full data inputting and processing capability for large-scale surveys, quickly and efficiently providing data from quantitative surveys, ranging from a few hundred to 10,000+ responses. Data can be provided in a variety of formats (including SNAP, SPSS and Excel). This service supports our wider strategy and research work but is also available on a stand-alone basis to clients that simply need large quantities of data to be analysed and presented in a usable format.

We are continually adding to our pool of interviewers, carrying out a range of work such as face-to-face interviewing at events, in-street and in people’s homes, as well as conducting regular telephone surveys. As well as hearing from people that may have some experience as a research interviewer, we would also like to hear from people that have good communications skills generally who may be interested in joining our team.
If you are interested, please send an initial email to j.brown@ibp.eu.com, who will send an initial Information Pack to you. Alternatively, click on the Apply Now button below and you can contact us through this website.
