Our Approach

IBP has a strong focus on learning and but with a strong practical emphasis, based on our experience as practitioners. Our particular areas of expertise include:

• Community engagement and capacity building
• Strategy and marketing
• Economic development

In addition to this, our facilitation skills are frequently used by clients to assist with partnership development days, team away days and similar events.

Some Examples of Our Work

• Delivery of a number of “Introduction to Economic Development” workshops for new staff and business advisers across the Scottish Enterprise and Highlands and Islands Enterprise networks as part of the Premier Adviser programme.
• Delivery of workshop programmes on leadership and management issues for the sabbaticals team at Glasgow University SRC.
• Delivery of management development units on Finance and Marketing as part of the Glasgow Business Support Programme, a programme led by our colleagues in the Academy of Leadership & Management, which led to a Diploma in Entrepreneurial Leadership for Glasgow City Council business advisers.
• Participatory Budgeting workshops with voluntary and community organisations in Glasgow, on behalf of Glasgow City Council, helping those organisations to best define, articulate and present the benefits of their project activity to audiences of community members.
• Acting as an assessor at a range of Assessment and Development Centres delivered by the Academy for Leadership and Management, with whom we work on a range of people and organisational development assignments.
• Delivery of team and partner awaydays for organisations such as Community Planning Partnerships, Local Authorities and government departments.
