Consultation and Research

Our Approach

IBP is a full-service research agency, delivering the full range of research and community engagement services, including:

  • Household surveys
  • In-street survey
  • Citizens' Panels
  • Online surveys
  • Qualitative research including focus groups and consumer working groups

Some examples of our work

  • Ongoing management of Citizens' Panels for Aberdeenshire Community Planning Partnership and North Ayrshire Community Planning Partnership; as well as delivering Panel surveys our team has extensive experience of recruiting and refreshing such Panels and engaging with Panel members through other methods, such as focus groups.
  • Large-scale household surveys for dozens of Registered Social Landlords, including household survey projects involving up to 1,500 interviews and large-scale postal surveys. This work is designed to meet the requirements of the Scottish Housing Regulator and to allow for benchmarking in relation to the “Housemark” STAR survey questions.
  • Large-scale telephone interview programmes including ongoing reputation tracker surveys for Aberdeenshire Council (1,800 interviews per year) and West Dunbartonshire Council (1,200 interviews per year) as well as bespoke telephone surveys, recent examples of which have included surveys of care home operators across the UK, interviews with tenants that have received improvements to their homes and interviews with new start businesses. We routinely deliver surveys involving 1,000+ interviews from our telephone interviewing suite in Lanarkshire.
  • Visitor surveys at events as diverse as The Heineken Cup Final at Murrayfield, Davis Cup Tennis matches at both Braehead and Liverpool, T in the Park, the Olympics football, the Magners Comedy Festival and numerous other events. In 2013 alone, we spoke to well over 10,000 people at over 30 events across the UK.
  • Employee attitude surveys for organisations such as Aberdeenshire Council, Angus Council, Argyll and Bute Council, North Ayrshire Council, Shettleston Housing Association and Orkney Housing Association.
  • Community consultation research for community and voluntary bodies (examples include work for organisations such as Ayrshire Independent Living Network, Evolution Skatepark, Nan Mckay Hall and West Kilbride Community Initiative).
  • Shopper surveys in town centre locations across Scotland, typically for Local Authorities or Business Improvement districts (BIDs).
  • Provision of online response options for a wide range of surveys, including various residents surveys, employee attitude surveys and service user consultations. A notable example is the ongoing TalentScotland survey we conduct for Scottish Enterprise), which receives responses from around the world and which is designed to be completed on a variety of platforms including PCs, laptops, tablets and other mobile devices.

The above is, of course, only a small section of the consultation and research assignments that we have undertaken and we are always happy to discuss your specific requirements, without obligation.
